2009 Meeting Date
& Location: Introduction The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) has recently established a new Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirement for Board Recertification. An integral part of this process is the need to complete 20 hours of scored self assessment examinations every three years. The Miller Orthopaedic Course (MOC), will help you do that! We will spend the pre-Superbowl weekend (hey, there are no games on anyway!) reviewing material from AAOS's Orthopaedic Knowledge Update (OKU) 9, and teaching the material that is tested in the AAOS's 2009 Orthopaedic Self Assessment Examination (OSAE). The examination, which is included in the course materials as part of the admission price, can then be completed on your way home. Once you complete the examination, you go online to the AAOS Examination Scoring Center, submit your answers and get a score and 20 CME Credits for self assessment -is added to your AAOS Member Transcript File, enough for three years! Then AAOS will send you the answer book. Faculty We will use the same award-winning veteran faculty that has made the Miller Orthopaedic Review Course and the Miller Orthopaedic Recertification Course a success for over a decade. The faculty have all critically reviewed their assigned areas of OKU 9 and the 2009 OSAE and will share this knowledge in our trademark bottom-line style. We are all experts in Orthopaedic Review! Location We have chosen the American Airlines Conference and Training Center in Dallas, Texas because of its central location and state-of-the-art facilities. The Center offers free transportation to and from the DFW airport (just minutes away), free internet access, and a host of amenities.
